There are thousands of well-updated plugins on WordPress, but not all of them will be worth having if you run a news or personal blog. Too many plugins can cause your website to slow down, and not enough could mean it lacks the essential functions you need to make it a success.
To help out with which plugins you may need for your WordPress blog, we made a list of some of our favourite plugins.
WordFence
Websites need security, and with WordPress being so popular, websites get hacked daily through faulty plugins or lack of security measures taken by the websites admin team. WordFence is a marvellous plugin that helps with that; it primarily detects any changes in the core files and warns you if your plugins need updating. WordFence is a free plugin, but we do recommend their paid version for more features.

WPForms is superb forms and surveys plugin that helps you create top-notch contact, payment, survey, newsletter and registration forms. It’s easy to use drag and drop builder with tonnes of brilliant templates that will make your life easier. If you’re looking to create quality leads or build up your subscription base, this plugin will help you.
Yoast
Yoast’s brilliant interface is one reason why so many blogs have managed to do well on search engines. Its easy-to-use examples and tutorials explain SEO basics to any beginner starting and help meta tag any posts or pages a person may need.
It is crucial to know that this tool is not your complete answer to any SEO problems but a small guide that will give you some hints on how to improve your content.
HD Quiz
If you’re looking to spice up your content with BuzzFeed-like content, then HD Quiz will be the perfect way to do it. HD Quiz is an easy-to-use quiz maker in which you can create fun quizzes for your audiences, including image-based answers. It’s addicting and one to consider.
Insert HTML Snippet

Disable Gutenberg
The Disable Gutenberg plugin restores the classic WordPress editor, removing the clunky Gutenberg version, many people complain about. Moreover, it allows you to continue using plugins and theme functions that extend the Classic Editor.
Akismet Spam Protection
Akismet identifies comments and submissions as spam so that your site does not publish malicious content and thus lets you avoid danger before you even see it. You can review the comment spam it catches on your blog’s admin screen.
